Lam Binh District has over 7,600 buffaloes. Nearly 300 households in the locality have raised buffalo fattening, and 137 households are supported with capital from new-style rural area construction to implement the project of fattened buffalo model.
Local people in Binh An Commune develop the fattened buffalo model.
Binh An is one of the typical communes with many households participating in fattened buffalo husbandry model, mostly in the hamlets of Tien Toc, Na Cooc, Phieng Luong, Tat Ten. There are over 1,230 buffaloes and cows in the commune. Of which, there are more than 900 buffalo herd.
The district authorities has created favorable conditions for local people to promote commodity husbandry as well as organising training courses on animal husbandry for the locals.
In addition, the district has maintained 3 buffalo-fattening cooperatives of Binh An, Thuong Lam and Lang Can communes in association with Tien Thanh High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative.
To sum up, the development of fattened buffalo husbandry model in Lam Binh District will be an effective way to utilise the local advantages, contributing to improving local people's incomes.
