In the past, he chose to study in the university. However, after 2 year, he decided to leave school and returned home develop economic. He confided that although he was very regret, with his family situation at that time, leaving school to focus on economic development was probably the best decision he could make.
He went to Hung Yen, the hometown of his grandmother, to learn how to grow of longan. Then, he went to Ham Yen Town to get experience of taking care of litchi, Dien pomelo, Tien Vua pomelo. In particular, he invested in growing Tien Vua pomelos. This is the type of pomelo that many people choose to display on the altar, so the selling price at the the garden is up to VND30,000 - VND50,000 per fruit. Each tree can produce 150 - 200 fruits per year. After investing a garden of all kinds of trees such as longan, pomelo, litchi, he started developed fish cage farming model.

Now, Nam possesses more than 1 acre planted with nearly 200 trees such as Hung Yen longan, Tien Vua pomelos, Dien pomelos and U Hong litchi and 5 fish cages. In 2021, he earned more than 200 million VND from cultivation and husbandry.
In the coming time, in addition to taking care of plants according to the correct cycle for the highest economic efficiency, he will develop about 10 fish cages. He still focuses mainly on monosex tilapia farming because of its economic value.
