The pomelo usually flowers in early spring to late autumn. The pomelos begin to ripen with a bright yellow, indicating that the pomelo fruts are ready for harvest. Averagely, pomelo weighs from 1.5kg to 2kg, creating a pomelo variety with its own quality and distinctive aroma compared to other regions of the province.
Realising the potential of "Sau ba" pomelo trees, Chi Thiet Commune has actively mobilised people to expand the pomelo growing area. Up to now, the commune has 63 households participating in planting pomelo with an area of nearly 14 hectares in 7 hamlets, with an output of 4,000 - 5,000 fruits per ha. The selling price in the garden is VND5,000 - VND12,000 per fruit. Many farmers have applied the Vietgap process in cultivation, ensuring the delicious and safe pomelo quality products for consumers.

In December 2020, "Sau ba" pomelo of Chi Thiet Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative was ranked 3-star OCOP product by the Provincial People's Committee. This is a condition to promote and expand the market for citrus fruit products of the commune. Thereby, opening up many opportunities for economic development, increasing people's income, contributing to promoting the economic development of the commune sustainable.
A lot of households in the commune escaped poverty thanks to "Sau ba" pomelo trees. By 2021, the number of poor households in the commune decreased to 50 households, accounting for 5.8%.
In the coming time, the Agriculture - Forestry Cooperative will coordinate with the Commune People's Committee to promote the products to consumers both inside and outside the province, especially through building product brand protection. The cooperative also aims to process this product into pomelo wine, pomelo jam, and expand the pomelo growing area up to 20 hectares, creating opportunities for the locals to get rich, as well as contribute to expanding the consumption market.
