In the country, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 have begun to increase locally in some localities.
In addition, the weather situation from the beginning of May until now, although not yet at the peak of the rainy season, has seen many thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, heavy rain causing floods, flash floods, landslides, these are favorable conditions that can increase the risk of environmental pollution and disease outbreaks.
To proactively implement measures to prevent and control infectious diseases, the Ministry of Health recommends that localities organize peak campaigns in June and July. Focusing on dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 and diseases that are at risk of occurring during the rainy and stormy season and flooding.
The Ministry of Health also recommends that local People's Committees direct the Departments of Health to strengthen coordination between the preventive and treatment health systems. Direct medical examination and treatment facilities to organize well the admission and treatment of patients, minimize deaths, avoid the situation where patients do not receive timely consultation, emergency care, treatment and referral, and have a plan to allocate treatment routes, support lower levels, and avoid hospital overload.
Implementing the document of the Ministry of Health, the Provincial People's Committee has also issued a document directing departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, cities, relevant agencies and units according to their functions and tasks to proactively promote the prevention and control of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 and epidemics during the rainy and flood season in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Health.
The health sector carries out communication activities, instructs households, preschools and primary schools to regularly wash hands for young children to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease; propagates to each household the use of personal protective measures such as wearing masks in public places, limiting unnecessary gatherings to prevent COVID-19. Organize environmental sanitation campaigns immediately after storms and floods to prevent epidemics.
Localities are fully responsible for epidemic prevention and control in their management areas; mobilize the participation of the community and the whole society in epidemic prevention and control.
