Two athletes from Tuyen Quang and their teammates win two gold medals in Canoeing in Thailand

TQO - From June 9 to June 15, the Asian U23 and Youth Canoeing Championships, along with the Southeast Asian Canoeing Championships, were held in Thailand. The Vietnamese delegation delivered an outstanding performance, reaching a total of 10 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

Among the members of the Vietnamese national team, Tuyen Quang province was represented by two athletes: Ma Thi Thuy in tho Binh commune and Ma Thi Dieu Ngoc in Phuc Son commune (Lam Binh district). At the Southeast Asian Championships, athlete Ma Thi Thuy competed in the 200m mixed double canoe event and won a gold medal. At the Asian Youth and U23 Championships, Ma Thi Dieu Ngoc delivered an impressive performance, winning a gold medal in the women’s C2 500m event and a silver medal in the women’s C2 200m event.

The victories in Thailand by the Vietnamese sports delegation were significantly contributed to by the two athletes from Tuyen Quang. These athletes are gradually making a name for themselves and are poised to carry forward the legacy of their predecessors as part of Vietnam’s long-term canoeing development strategy on the Asian stage.
