Spring rendezvous

TQO - Bien Hamlet is the farthest village, 14 km from the center of Phuc Son Commune (Lam Binh). This place is home to two ethnic groups of Dao and Tay. Coming to the locality, everyone feels the space of spring filled with the cultural identity of Dao and Tay people and enjoys the fresh air, peaceful scenery of the hamlet.

People in Bien Hamlet always unite to preserve their cultural identity. Although they are two different ethnic groups, the Red Dao here consider preserving the culture of the Tay as preserving their own culture and vice versa.

On January 13 every year, local people organize the Dao ethnic culture festival. However, on this day, many folk games of the Tay and Dao ethnic groups are held such as ‘con’ throwing, the singing contest, the beating of Pam, the blowing of the horn, the banana tree climbing contest, the brocade embroidery, and the Pao singing contest.

In Bien Hamlet, the Tay and Dao women are also proficient in embroidering traditional costumes. On the holidays of the two ethnic groups, women all wear the most beautiful traditional costumes.

In addition to preserving the national costume, the Dao people here also preserve Pao Dung songs. On holidays and New Year, the hamlet establishes Pao Dung singing contests.

The preservation of their unique cultural features brings excitement to each person, each family in the space of national culture in Bien Hamlet.
