There have been many people with disabilities who have learned vocational skills and worked in accordance with their abilities, confidently contributed, created their own income, and lived more integratedly with the community and society. Many people have successfully started a business, become a business owner, then come back to help people in the same situation as themselves.
The Party and State have a fairly complete system of policies and laws on disabled people. The Law on People with Disabilities has a chapter regulating vocational training and employment for people with disabilities.
The support program for disabled people in the period 2021-2030 approved by the Prime Minister has the goal that by 2030, 300 thousand people with disabilities who are in need and qualified will be supported with vocational training, job creation, and striving to 100% of people with disabilities who need and qualify will be supported with loans at preferential interest rates to create livelihoods and jobs.
The Government has allocated a budget of nearly VND10 billion each year to support vocational training and created jobs for about 19,000 people with disabilities.
Job creation for disabled people needs to be integrated with the implementation of national target programs to have more resources. In addition, it is necessary to have genuine and compassionate care from units and businesses to create jobs and arrange and adjust working conditions for people with disabilities according to the provisions of the Law on Disabled People.
