Tuyen Quang provincial leader receives KOICA Vietnam Country Director

TQO - Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Thuc hosted a reception on January 15 for Kim Jin-oh, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on the occasion of the end of his term in Vietnam.

Thanks to the Government’s support, Tuyen Quang Province has had access to the Korean Government’s non-refundable aid in rural development. To date, the project has been completed and further investment will be made to construct medical stations and schools in Son Duong and Ham Yen districts; to conduct surveys and collect data in Binh Yen Commune, Son Duong District; and to prepare for the building of an office in the province.

Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Thuc stressed that many Korean-funded projects have been successfully operated in Tuyen Quang Province. Thanks to KOICA’s activities, many Korean investors have flocked and poured investment into the province.


Vice Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Thuc presented a certificate of merit to KOICA Country Director in Vietnam Kim Jin-oh.

He also hailed the KOICA Director’s support for the implementation of the projects in Tuyen Quang Province, which have helped to improving the livelihood of local ethnic minority groups.

He described the director’s visit to Tuyen Quang as a meaningful activity, particularly as the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival is just round the corner.

For his part, KOICA Country Director in Vietnam Kim Jin-oh conveyed his thanks to the provincial authorities for their support in implementing the KOICA project. He expressed his hope that the project will create a change for rural areas of Tuyen Quang. He also hoped to return to Tuyen Quang to witness the outcomes of the project.

On the occasion, the KOICA Country Director in Vietnam was presented with a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee in recognition of his contributions to the implementation of the project in the province.
