Every year, on January 15, Thuong Lam Commune People's Committee organizes the Tong Tong Festival - a festival going to the fields.

The festival in the fields is a form of folk cultural activity with profound humanistic meaning, expressing the people's aspirations for harmony between heaven and earth, yin and yang, and praying for a healthy, and prosperous.

The offerings at the festival are all products made by farmers, expressing people's gratitude to heaven and earth for the bountiful harvest, and expressing the wish for good weather in the new year.

When the offering trays have been placed on the altar, the shaman checks and conducts the worshiping rituals with prayers to the agricultural gods, river gods, and mountain gods to bless the crops and good season.
