The traditional costume of Pa Then people
With the conception that red is the colour of fire and light. The God of Fire is the most supreme god of the group, so Pa Then women use red as the dominant colour for their clothes, in combination with white and black fabrics and alternate blue and yellow patterns.
The brilliant clothes, along with jewellery such as silver rings, three-leaf hairpins and headscarves, make the faces of the Pa Then women even more radiant.
In addition, the traditional costume has become a highlight in the sacred, unique and mysterious Fire Dance Festival of Pa Then ethnic minority people.
Over recent years, the People’s Committee of Hong Quang Commune, where most Pa Then people live, have paid strong attention to vocational training for the local people.
