Son Duong preserves the Tay ethnic language

TQO - Along with the economic and social development, the preservation of the language of the Tay ethnic group in Son Duong is an issue that needs attention to contribute to preserving their cultural identities.

The Tay ethnic group accounts for more than 30% of the population of Son Duong District, mainly concentrated in Tan Trao, Trung Yen, Minh Thanh, Hop Hoa and Hop Thanh communes.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Son Duong District has implemented many activities such as opening Tay language classes, developing clubs of Then Singing and 'Tinh' gourd lute, etc. These clubs have attracted many people participating.

Besides, in order to preserve the national cultural values associated with local tourism development, the Women's Union of Tan Trao commune established the Club "Women performs Then - Tinh gourd lute" in June 2022 with 17 members. The club collects Then tunes to practice in order to support local political duties and serve tourists.
