He has made efforts to research, collect, and teach to his children the songs, dances, rituals such as Pao Dung, the dances in ‘Cau Mua’ (praying for rain) and ‘Cap Sac’ rituals.
Ly Van Tan is a person of the Dao Tien
ethnicity who has made contributions in exploring, researching,
collecting and restoring rituals imbued with Dao Tien cultural identity.
He has established a folk music team of the village to maintain and practice the performance of seasonal dances, Cap Sac dancing, Pao Dung singing. The team often serves tourists at tourist destinations in the district.
At present, he still preserves drums, gongs, horns and traditional instruments of the Dao Tien people. His family also uses the Dao ethnic language in their daily communication. At the same time, they also call people in the village to preserve and promote the language of their people.
The meaningful and practical works of Ly Van Tan have contributed to spreading awareness and responsibility of the people in preserving the traditional cultural beauty of ethnic minorities, contributing to enriching the spiritual lives of ethnic minorities in the district.
