The movement received 150 entries by 99 contestants. The organising board presented 58 awards for the most outstanding entries, many of them were produced by entrants from outside the province.
Bahnar ethnic singer and songwriter Y Jang Tuyn, from Gia Lai Province, has written many songs about new-rural areas. His true and sincere feeling about a developing Tuyen Quang Province has inspired him to compose the song entitled ‘Mung Nong Thon Moi Tuyen Quang’ (Cheer for the building of new rural area in Tuyen Quang) as a gift to the northern province and his friends.
Meanwhile, a song named ‘Nho Dong Gam Que Toi’ (Remembering the Gam river in my hometown) by Quan Anh Tuan offers listeners with a fresh feeling about new rural areas in Tuyen Quang. The Chiem Hoa – based contestant has worked in Bac Kan Province for 20 years. Upon hearing about the movement, he composed the song with his wholehearted love for his hometown.

The first prize in the theatrical play category went to Hoang Thanh Du, a member of the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, for his entry titled ‘Xin Hay Nho’ (Please Remember). He said that he was once an artist delivering performances in Tuyen Quang Province, 30 years ago. Recently, when he joined a field trip to several districts in Tuyen Quang, he has held that the programme on new-style rural area building has brought about a more prosperous life for local people. In many places he visited, the infrastructure has been improved, bringing a new appearance for rural areas.
The songs, theatrical acts, and poems sent to the contest have contributed to advertising the land of Tuyen Quang to people across the country as a province which has developed robustly from the programme on new-style rural area building.
