Forming a reading culture from the family

TQO - Reading culture is formed from three main factors, including reading habits, reading passion and reading skills. Reading habits are considered the most important factor in forming a reading culture.

Many studies have shown that family plays a decisive role in forming reading habits for each person.

In a survey in France, reading is inherited from family tradition in childhood days, 20 percent of French people whose parents never read books are non-readers, 36 percent of French people who are passionate about reading have parents who regularly read books.

Along with school and society, family is the cradle to form, nurture and maintain reading habits of each person.

Thereby, parents focus on building a space to stimulate children's passion for reading, such as building a reading cabinet, bookshelf, reading room, or small library reading corner as well as spending time reading with children every day.
