The Province has over 240,000 natural forests and nearly 200,000 ha of production forests. The local forests have not only made the climate equable to become a ‘green long’ of the life, but also have become one of important economic fields.
Tuyen Quang planted more than 11,000 hectares of forests each year. The Province is now taking the lead among localities nationwide having the most forests receiving FSC certification, with over 25,000 hectares. As a result, the value of plantation timber has been increased by around 20%. Tuyen Quang’s forest coverage rate reached 65%, ranking the third in the country.
Local people in Kim Quan Commune, Yen Son District, are planting forests.
The Province aims to develop processing industry and service tourism. After the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference in February 2017, Tuyen Quang has created most favourable conditions for investors and enterprises to implement their projects and expand the production of wooden materials. Many large companies have invested in factories and expanded the scales of wood material production in the localities, including Woodsland Tuyen Quang Joint Stock Company, An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Company and Phuc Lam Chopsticks Factory.
With the spirit of urgency in accompanying investors, the local authorities have accelerated the ground clearance to create conditions for enterprises to build their factories and install production lines. The Tuyen Quang Woodsland Joint Stock Company has inaugurated and put four wood processing factories into operation at the Thang Quang industrial zones in Yen Son District, with a modern chain system. The company has made the most of woods from the planted forests to produce civil goods, including tables, chairs, beds and wardrobes, serving for domestic markets and exports.
Abundant wood materials have helped the An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Company developed constantly. In addition to maintaining the stable operation of two factories, the company is expanding its production scale with the construction of another pulp factory with a capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year that is expected to be inaugurated in 2020.
