Currently, the provincial urbanisation process has developed rapidly and strongly. Accordingly, Tuyen Quang Province has now seven urban municipalities including Tuyen Quang City and the centres of Yen Son, Chiem Hoa, Ham Yen, Na Hang, Lam Binh and Son Duong Districts.
Tuyen Quang City authorities have drawn-up detailed plans for the construction of many projects such as Son Phuc new-style urban area on the banks of the Lo River, Tinh Huc – Videc ecological and commercial urban area, and An Phu residential and service urban area.

Furthermore, local authorities have implemented, oriented, and synchronised arterial traffic routes and road networks in the province, especially focusing on the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway which is itself connected to the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.
The urbanisation has become a great driving force for Tuyen Quang Province’s socio-economic development, contributing to transferring the local labour structure as well as improving locals’ living standards.
