A total of 25 hectares of rice fields in Tu Thinh Commune have been switched to growing garlic as the autumn-winter crop, most of them located in the hamlets of Da Nang, Hung Thinh, Tan Thang and Dong Thinh.
Garlic has long been considered as a key crop of the commune. As it is suitable for the local soil and climate, it grows and thrives quickly.

To develop the Tu Thinh garlic brand, the People’s Committee of Son Duong District has injected nearly VND400 million to support the Son Thinh Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative in building production lines of black garlic, garlic essential oil and processed garlic. Under the plan, the cooperative will introduce their first batch of products made from garlic to the market at the end of this year.
Garlic has opened up a new direction for the economic development of local people in Tu Thinh Commune. Each 1 hectare of garlic farming can generate more than VND300 million. More than 50 households in the commune have gained income of over VND100 million each from growing garlic.
The People’s Committee of the commune continues to expand garlic farming to ensure sources of raw materials for the local cooperative’s production of processed garlic products.
