Surveying the organic agricultural production area

TQO - On November 18, the delegation of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association and the Danish-Asian Agricultural Development Organization (ADDA) organized a survey of organic agricultural production areas in Ham Yen District.

The survey delegation visits the organic orange area of Dang Dinh Khue family in Thuoc Thuong Hamlet, Tan Thanh Commune, Ham Yen District.

Currently, Ham Yen has 6,300 hectares of orange. In which, the area of VIETGAP orange is 870 hectares while the organic orange area is 22.6 hectares. The yield of orange of the district is estimated at 74,200 tons of oranges.

Orange product of the district have been granted a Geographical Indication Certificate by the Ministry of Science and Technology and was organized as 4-star OCOP product by the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province.

At the survey, the delegation visited two organic orange growing models of Dang Dinh Khue's family inThuoc Thuong Hamlet, Tan Thanh Commune and Hoang Bien's family in Tan Yen Residential Group, Tan Yen Town.

Through the survey, the delegation exchanged and evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of Ham Yen orange production area and the importance of organic agricultural production in order to expand the area of VietGAP and organic oranges in the province.
