My Bang is the leading commune in building rural concrete roads in the province.
Currently, My Bang commune has 570 hectares of tea, the largest area in the province. Tea growers here have proactively replaced old midland tea varieties with high-quality tea varieties and applied advanced techniques to production to increase value. Tea trees bring My Bang people about VND60 billion per year.
Mr. Vu Van Bay, Tho Bang village, My Bang commune, affirmed that his family harvests 30 tons of fresh tea buds/batch, earning about VND120 million for the whole year, and their life is very stable thanks to that. In the commune, there is My Lam Tea Joint Stock Company and 22 fresh tea processing factories, purchasing and consuming products for people at stable prices, tea growers are excited to stick with tea trees.
Households actively grow tea in the direction of organic farming, VietGap, producing specialty tea, increasing value per unit area. The commune has 4-star OCOP tea products such as Ngoc Thuy Non green tea, Ngoc Thuy Dinh green tea of Su Anh Agricultural Production Service Cooperative.
In addition to tea trees as the main crop, the commune has Ho Toan Dairy Farm, a high-tech farm that meets Globalgap international standards. Currently, the total herd of cows is 1,700, of which 900 are milking cows, HF breed imported from Australia. With an average milk output of over 28 liters per cow per day, the milk quality standards are assessed by Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company Vinamilk, the purchasing unit, as being among the top in terms of quality and output, achieving a revenue of VND20 billion per year.
Mr. Luong Duy Toan, Director of Ho Toan Joint Stock Company, said: In addition to creating 120 direct jobs for local people, the unit also creates over 2,000 indirect jobs, through growing raw material areas for dairy cows in districts in the province.
Mr. Hoang Duc Canh, Secretary of the Party Committee of My Bang commune, shared: The locality has 25 villages, a population of 14,194 people, 3,408 households, and 7 ethnic groups. The commune has 5 cooperatives, 2 joint stock companies and nearly 1,000 individual business households, showing that My Bang has a fairly good agricultural, forestry and service economy. The driving force of the new rural area in My Bang is the program of building concrete roads in the countryside down to the villages and production areas.
Thanks to the determination of the cadres and people, in 2015, My Bang was one of the first 7 communes in Tuyen Quang province, and also the first commune in Yen Son district to reach the new rural area goal. After more than 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Area Construction, My Bang commune has surpassed the advanced new rural area goal in 2021, becoming 1 of 4 communes in the whole province to reach the model new rural area standard in 2025. After nearly 10 years of implementing the model new rural area construction, the total resources mobilized have been over VND228 billion from state support sources, credit loans and people's contributions.
Up to now, the rural appearance of My Bang commune has changed completely and clearly, people's awareness has been raised. Infrastructure has been invested in a more spacious and modern manner. The average income per capita in the commune has reached over VND56 million per person per year, and there are no more multidimensional poor households in the commune.
My Bang has determined that building a new countryside is a process that has no stopping point. The commune aims to continue to maintain and improve the criteria of a model new countryside commune, aiming to build a smart new countryside commune. With the desire to rise up, My Bang will continue to write new pages of history, becoming a bright spot to keep the fire burning in the countryside of the province.
