Lam Binh aims to develop organic agricultural products

TQO - Lam Binh District is aiming to develop organic agricultural products in order to increase added value for local people and contribute to environmental protection.

Tho Binh commune has the advantage of specialty goat farming. The commune has about 60 households developing goat farming with a total herd of more than 800 goats. Goat meat product of Tho Binh Commune has recognised as OCOP product with 3-star  standards.

In addition, Tho Binh Commune has 257.2 hectares of Shan Khau Mut tea, mostly in Ban Phu and Ban Puoc hamlets. By cultivating organic tea, local people have created a unique Shan Khau Mut tea product, meeting the demands of customers. Shan Khau Mut tea has been recognised as a 3-star OCOP product by the OCOP product classification and evaluation council of Tuyen Quang Province.

Recently, a number of households in the district have grown vegetables, bringing stable economic results. The district has over 20 hectares of vegetable. After harvesting, vegetable products are consumed by restaurants and homestay facilities in the locality.

With positive results, Lam Binh District strives to have 50-70 hectares of agricultural crops produced by organic processes by 2022.
