Le Tuan Thanh, Director of Toan Thang Agricultural Cooperative, one of the pioneers in planting Sachi trees said that, by chance, once introduced by a nephew to Sachi and Inca Joint Stock Company in Hoa Binh, he decided to visit the actual model in Tan Lac District (Hoa Binh). Through research, he found that this model can be grown appropriately in the locality. He bravely planted Sachi trees on the land of 2 hectares.
After nearly a year of planting, Inca Joint Stock Company signed the contract to consume his sachi products. An average, 1 hectare sachi trees generate 1 ton of dried fruit in the first year. From the second year, the sachi yield reaches 3 ton - 4 ton of fruit. With a selling price of VND50,000 - VND55,000 per kg, his family earns VND80 million - VND90 million per hectare (after deducting costs).
After forming the raw material area, at the end of 2019, he established Toan Thang Agricultural Cooperative. With a support of VND50 million from the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of Son Duong District, he and members of the cooperative have invested in machinery, production lines, and product processing right in Tu Thinh Commune.
Currently, the cooperative has produced products of roasted Sachi seeds, and types of Omega 3, 6, 9. To create trust for consumers, he registered the traceability of the product. Having the traceability code has facilitated the promotion of products to consumers. At present, the products are consumed both inside and outside the province such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, etc.
The development of Sachi trees contributes to the plant structure transformation, job creation and income improvement of local people in Tu Thinh Commune.
