Beekeeping under the longan canopy of members of Hung Hau Cooperative, Thai Binh Commune (Yen Son).
Comrade Nguyen Manh Dung, Chairman of Thai Binh Commune People's Committee said that with the advantage of more than 1,600 hectares of planted forest and nearly 200 hectares of fruit trees, rich flower sources such as longan, lychee, orange, grapefruit, mint, acacia, etc., beekeeping in the commune is developing strongly.
“Thai Binh Commune has encouraged people to develop honey beekeeping. This profession has brought significant income to many households. In particular, thanks to the rich flower source all year round, people can harvest honey continuously, ensuring a stable income”, he said.
Mr. Trinh Duy Hung, Director of Hung Hau Agricultural Production Service Cooperative, shared: “Our cooperative currently has 12 official members, raising more than 2,000 bee colonies”.

On average, each bee colony of the cooperative can produce 25 liters of honey each year. Each type of honey has a different value, but longan honey brings the highest value”.
A liter of longan honey costs VND200,000, much higher than other types of honey.
Hung Hau Cooperative has successfully built Binh Ca honey products to achieve 3-star OCOP in 2021, meeting 4-star OCOP standards in 2024. This contributes to increasing product value, bringing stable income to local people.
