Safety from production to processing
In the communes of Trung Yen, Tu Thinh, Vinh Loi (Son Duong District), Kien Thiet (Yen Son District), Hoa Phu, Yen Nguyen (Chiem Hoa District), ect, stretching cucumber gardens creates green and fresh atmosphere. This is raw material area of Minh Tam Cooperative in Son Duong District cooperating with local farmers to implement this model.
Director of Minh Tam Cooperative Tran Van Phuc affirmed that the cooperative has linked with farmers, establishing the cucumber growing area under safety standards with the total area of 60 hectares. The cooperative's products are ensured the strictest standards in order to supply to the supermarkets and safe food stores in the domestic market and export to Korea. Safety production has created competitiveness. Accordingly, the cooperative has the highest yield of harvested cucumbers ever with 10 - 15 tonnes per day in spite of the Covid-19 outbreak.

In addition, clean fish farming areas have also been formed on the Tuyen Quang lake bed and along the banks of Lo and Gam rivers with the scale of nearly 2,000 cages.
Pham Van Toan, Director of Duc Nguyen Fishery Co., Ltd said that along with the stages of disease prevention and care, the large area and clean water source are prerequisites for safe aquaculture. He also shared, nearly 10 years of aquaculture on the lake bed with a total scale of 30 cages, including 10 cages of specialty fish, his company has never had any difficulties in the process of raising fish. Each fish after 3 years of breeding gains weight of 2.5 kg - 3 kg, with the selling price of VND120,000 - VND400,000 per kg depending on the type and size of the fish.
Strategy for a sustainable agriculture
Developing clean and safe agriculture is an inevitable direction of the province in order to ensure a sustainable agriculture. Accordingly, The province has promoted agricultural production under PGS, VietGAP and SAN standards with the total area of 4.820 hectares, an increase of 2.9 times compared to 2020. There are 35 farms in the locality certified as disease-free facilities, 14 breeding establishments under VietGAp and GlobalGap standards, 20 enterprises and cooperatives develop clean aquaculture models, etc, meeting the requirements of high-quality products of both domestic and foreign markets.

On July 27, 2021, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province issued the Decision No.1017 approving the "Investigating the current situation and researching organic farming areas in Tuyen Quang in the 2025 - 2030 period" project. The province has set a goal of identifying 65 agricultural cultivation regions with a total area of 2,000 hectares by 2030.
Previously, many policies of agricultural production under safety standards were implemented in the locality such as 700-hectare VietGAP orange areas, over-1000-hectare tea region, aquaculture area with the scale of nearly 2,000 cages and buffalo farming with 100,000 buffaloes, etc.
In 2017, clean fish on Tuyen Quang hydropower plant lake bed was listed on "green address, clean agriculture" by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Ham Yen king orange was voted in Top 10 most famous specialty fruits in Vietnam. Phuc Ninh pomelo was also ranked in Top 10 famous agriculture brands by Vietnam Consumer Association.
