For this year’s winter crop, the commune planted more than 90 hectares of different kinds of vegetables. Of this, there are 15 hectares of corn for seeds, 25 hectares of corn for animal feed, 5 hectares of cucumbers, and 45 hectares of vegetables and kinds of peas, concentrated in Na Reo, Na Kha, Na Vai, Na Kham, and Na Chang hamlets.
Since the beginning of the crop, the Communal People's Committee has instructed local people to actively dredge canals within the fields to ensure appropriate irrigation. In addition, commune authorities have coordinated with suppliers of seeds, fertilizers, and plant protection drugs as well as organising workshops and training courses for local people to utilise new high-yield, high-quality and weather-resistant plant varieties.
Developing winter crops in Nang Kha Commune contributes to increasing incomes and creating jobs for the locals as well as enhancing the development of new-style rural criteria.
