Kim Phu high quality rice is fragrant, tasty and sweet. The rice features long grains with a clear white colour producing a sticky cooked rice. Irrigation water for rice is taken from four reservoirs around the region, including Ngoi La lake and streams in My Lam Ward.

Kim Phu high quality rice is produced by Kim Phu Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative is in charge of supplying seeds, fertilizer materials, pesticides as well as purchasing and packing. People participating in the production of high quality rice must register to buy seeds and sign production commitments according to the standards set by the cooperative.

Growing high quality rice is more efficient than the normal rice variety production. High quality rice with packages and registered labels is worth VND20,000 per kilogramme. The cooperative has two rice selling points in Tuyen Quang city and Hanoi city.

In 2020, in order to meet market demand, the commune has implemented the planning of a 300-hectare high quality rice production area under VietGAP standards.
