Many farmers in Hung My commune (Chiem Hoa) develop afforestation, bringing high economic efficiency.

The province sets a goal to strive to develop a large timber forest area of over 89,000 hectares by 2025. This goal has been implemented by localities and afforestation units.

Currently, the total area of large timber forest development in the entire province by the end of 2022 is 76,652 hectares, reaching 100.8% of the plan. The Agriculture Sector is coordinating with localities to review area statistics; supporting seedling policies and preferential loan policies, expanding and developing large areas of timber forests.

Tuyen Quang province possesses a forest coverage of up to 65%.  There are many species of precious medicinal plants growing naturally under the forest canopy. The province has built a project for sustainable forestry development in the province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2030. Accordingly, the period 2021 - 2025 will develop medicinal herbs and forest products. In addition to timber under the forest canopy, it reaches over 2,000 hectares; In the period 2025 - 2030, develop over 3,500 hectares of medicinal plants and non-timber forest products.

The economic value forests have brought the trend of sustainable forestry economic development.
