Bringing agricultural products to major markets

Every year, Tuyen Quang province provides thousands of tons of agricultural products to major markets, especially agricultural products such as oranges, grapefruit and tea. It is worth mentioning that the province's agricultural product brands have conquered fastidious markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China) and many European countries.

Currently, the province’s 38 products were awarded certificates of trademark registration, of which the Ham Yen orange product has completed the necessary procedures to gain a certificate of geographical indication. In addition, agricultural products, which are specialties of cooperatives and farms in the province including; orange, pomelo, tea, buffalo pork meat and fish, from 18 production facilities in the region have been labeled with origin-tracing stamps.

Typical products such as Ham Yen orange, Tuyen Quang honey and Vinh Tan specialty tea have captured the market. Currently, the province’s agricultural products are also being sold in almost every supermarket in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. Every year, more than 70,000 tons of Ham Yen oranges are provided to the market. In particular, a large amount of oranges produced which have applied for the VietGAP process have been distributed to clean food shops and Vinmart supermarkets nationwide.

Besides traditional products, some new products have affirmed the brand. Among them, Na Hang clean fish has been managed and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s system, becoming "Green and clean agriculture product" brand nationwide. Additionally, Xuan Van pomelo has been ranked among the top 10 well-known trademarks in 2018 as voted by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association and the Entrepreneurs Scientific Union, becoming a reliable product for customers at stores and supermarkets in Tuyen Quang city and other provinces.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh in Khuon Thong village, Phuc Ninh commune, Yen Son district who plants orange and grapefruit tree under Vietgap, earns more than 500mil VND per annum.

From now to 2020, the province will implement standardization for 69 products, including food, consumer and beverage, in order to expand the province's agricultural product portfolio at markets both inside and outside the province and also overseas. Currently, the province’s agriculture and rural development sector is supporting businesses, organisations, cooperatives, cooperative groups and households to directly apply new scientific and technological applications; organising training courses on applying for VietGAP and BasicGAP processes; utilising processing technology suitable with local conditions to improve the value of agricultural products.
