Developing industries with huge potential in Tuyen Quang

The northern province of Tuyen Quang posted total value of industrial production at VND14,500 billion (US$623.5 million) in 2018 (constant prices 2010), equivalent to 102% of the yearly plan, up 9.9% compared to 2017.

The province’s industrial production index also rose 107% in 2018. The results were attributed to the activeness of provincial leaders, agencies, and the local authorities in monitoring the production and business situation and implementing synchronous solutions to remove difficulties for businesses to boost production.

Over the past few years, the province has issued a number of mechanisms and policies to support businesses and attract corporations and enterprises to invest in its areas of advantages, thus creating jobs for local workers.

Due attention has been paid to promoting forest development which is a great advantage to attract enterprises to invest in the forestry product processing industry. The provincial leaders and agencies concerned have promptly removed difficulties and obstacles to stabilise the source of raw materials for agro-forestry product processing companies in the locality. Woodsland Tuyen Quang Joint Stock Company has built four factories on an area of over 27ha in Thang Quan and Lang Quan communes, Yen Son district. Land clearance was conducted quickly by the local authorities, creating the best conditions for the company to build its construction works and factories. All factories are scheduled to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2019.

The provincial leaders have also worked directly with An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Company and Son Duong Sugar Cane factory to ensure the implementation of measures to purchase materials, expand material growing areas, and boost intensive cultivation and productivity so that these companies will have enough materials for production. Therefore, factories which faced shortages of raw materials a few years ago currently have ensured sources of raw materials for stable operation. Local products exported to Asian and European markets have contributed to building high quality Vietnamese brands for consumers.

The province will strive to effectively implement mechanisms and policies on industrial development in 2019 in order to achieve an industrial production value (constant prices 2010) of VND15,660 billion (US$673.38 million).

During the first three months of 2019, the province also witnessed the completion and operation of factories of Woodsland Tuyen Quang JSC, while the province promoted the development of a sustainable material zone serving the processing industry and development of supporting industries and production of construction materials to ensure the province’s economic growth in 2019.
