Binh Yen Commune develops economy from mushroom growing

TQO - After more than 3 years of operation, the Binh Yen Clean Mushroom Cooperative in Son Duong District has gradually gained a firm foothold in the market thanks to its high-quality products and food hygiene and safety compliance.

Following the Three-Noes motto of "no pesticides, no preservatives, no dirty water", the cooperative and its members always adhere to clean and safe production and processing of mushrooms.

The model clean mushroom growing area of Do Thi Thuy's family in Dong Troi Hamlet, Thuong Am Commune.

Therefore, Binh Yen Cooperative's products have a foothold in the market. Its products not only serve local people in the province but also reach other localities such as Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, and Phu Tho.

The key products of the cooperative are oyster mushroom, straw mushroom, and cloud ear fungus. The cooperative expects to grow 20,000 packs of mushrooms in 2020. The annual output is more than 17 tonnes of various kinds of mushroom with a stable selling price of VND25,000 - VND30,000 per kilogramme. The cooperative has created jobs for 8 local workers with a monthly income of between VND4 - VND5 million each.

Mushroom growing has created jobs for many local people in Binh Yen Commune. In addition, the farmers can take advantage of the by-products derived from mushroom farming to help reduce environmental pollution after each growing season.
