Enhancing promotion thanks to fairs
The province is focusing on the production of clean agricultural products, including Ham Yen thick-skinned orange, Xuan Van grapefruit, Bat Tien My Bang tea and Kim Phu rice. The locality has also paid much attention to building brands to improve the products’ quality.
In addition to investment in inputs, Tuyen Quang has regularly promoted thick-skinned oranges at supply-demand connection programmes. Since the beginning of the year, the province has coordinated with the Hanoi municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organise a week to introduce its agricultural products in the capital city and showcased its agricultural products and handicrafts at Trang An Festival in Ninh Binh province. The locality has also supported Tan Thai 168 Tea Cooperative to participate in the first Agricultural Cooperative and Cooperative – Enterprises Union in Hanoi.
Also this year, Tuyen Quang’s ca lang (hemibagrus) and Vinh Tan tea were listed among nominations for the 2017 Vietnam Gold Farming Brand. The provincial agricultural sector has provided many products, fish from Long Giang Limited Company, Hop Thanh mien dong (cassava vermicelli), Lang Bat green tea, Tuyen Quang honey and Tien Phat turmeric starch, to the Centre for Exhibition, Introduction and Distribution of Safe Food in Hanoi.

Notably, pavilions featuring agricultural products from localities have been arranged at the annual Tuyen Quang City Festival. Visitors at the event had the chance to enjoy typical agricultural products including Ham Yen thick-skinned orange, Luc Hanh cassava vermicelli, Tan Trao high-quality rice and Lam Binh lake duck eggs.
Development of agricultural tours
In addition to the promotion of agricultural products, Tuyen Quang has paid attention to the development of tours associated with agriculture. Specifically, in My Bang commune, Yen Son district, the tea garden of the My Lam Tea Joint Stock Company was evaluated by the Vietnam Tea Association as the most beautiful of its kind in the northern mountainous region. It is expected to attract numerous visitors to visit, enjoy and experience.
Currently, visitors can visit and learn about the production processes at the tea garden for free. However, the enterprises will invest in developing services, renovating and redesigning about 150 hectares of tea, planting and protecting vegetation and trees in the whole tea area, keeping the ecological balance of flora and fauna and protecting the environment to meet the visitors’ demand. The investment is expected to contribute to gradually raising the income for farmers and benefits for the enterprise.
The model of tourism associated with agriculture has been developed successfully in many provinces. Despite being a new model in Tuyen Quang, it is expected to bring good results.
