Attracting investment from private businesses into tourism

TQO - Over the past decade, My Lam Mineral Spring Resort has attracted investment from seven private businesses. The site welcomed around 120,000 visitors in 2018, and the figure surpassed 50,000 in the first half of this year.

Not only luring small-sized businesses, My Lam has recently received investment from the Vietnamese property developer Vingroup for the implementation of the 30-hectare Vinpearl Tuyen Quang project.

Several strategic investors have deployed tourism development projects and constructed high-quality accommodation facilities in the province, including two Vingroup-invested projects of Vincom Shophouse Commercial Centre and Living Space, and Vinpearl Tuyen Quang; the Muong Thanh Grand Tuyen Quang Hotel with investment from Muong Thanh Group. Meanwhile, FLC Group is making surveys on investment in Tuyen Quang city and Son Duong district.

Among the 15 key investment projects of Tuyen Quan in the 2017-2020 period, there are a number of tourism development projects, including those on the construction of Song Lo Urban Area and the Phieng Bung and Nui Dum Eco-tourism sites.

Tuyen Quang provincial authorities have worked to diversify the locality’s tourism products, ranging from ecotourism and community-based tourism to historical and spiritual tourism.

The involvement of private businesses in tourism development will significantly contribute to boosting Tuyen Quang province’s hospitality sector on the country’s tourist map.  The local authorities have provided businesses with favourable and preferential mechanisms and policies on land lease and administrative procedures in order to encourage their investments in the province.
