The lives of the people in Da Ban 1 Hamlet are changing day by day.
The life of the Dao people in Da Ban 1 is changing day by day. Concrete roads are built solidly to meet the transportation needs of people. The Dao people in the locality not only change their thinking but also change their way of working according to the new cultural life.
Previously, the poverty rate of Da Ban 1 accounted for over 50%, but now there are only 2 poor households.
Realizing that planting acacia on forest land did not bring the expected economic benefits in Da Ban because the soil was not suitable for acacia trees, people in the village boldly switched from growing acacia to growing eucalyptus.
Currently, Da Ban 1 Hamlet has over 300 hectares of eucalyptus forest. On average, the hamlet harvests over 12 thousand m3 of timber each year. The per capita income reached VND48 million per person per year.
Not only promoting their strengths from planted forests, the Dao people in Da Ban also take advantage of their strengths in animal husbandry to escape the poverty. The hamlet has 1000 goats and over 7000 poultry. From farming models in the direction of family farms, the Dao people here have increased their income.
In addition to economic development, the Dao people have also preserved their unique culture. For many years, the club for preserving the cultural identity of the Dao ethnic group in the hamlet has maintained and operated effectively with 25 core members divided into two teams: the art team and the embroidery team.
The hamlet is expected to have a stronger transformation in the near future when the self-reliance of the people is promoted.
