National Press Festival 2025: Looking back on 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary press

TQO - On June 19, the National Press Festival 2025 with the theme “Vietnamese Press - Loyalty - Creativity - Courage - Innovation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland” officially opened at the National Convention Center (Hanoi).

Politburo member Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation and President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh visit the newspaper display booths of the Emulation Cluster of Journalists Associations of the Northern Mountainous Provinces.

The opening conference was attended by Politburo member Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhandan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association; and leaders of central department, ministries, branches, and reporters from domestic and foreign press agencies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhandan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association affirmed that the National Press Festival 2025 has a great significance, marking the 100-year journey of formation and development of Vietnamese revolutionary press.

He stressed the National Press Festival 2025 is a highlight of the spirit of innovation, creativity, and comprehensive vision with many impressive exhibitions, diverse and practical professional activities, and unique cultural and artistic programs. This is not only a great festival for the press nationwide but also an opportunity for journalists to review the glorious and proud tradition, and to honor the achievements, contributions, and silent sacrifices of journalists throughout the century.

At the conference, Politburo member Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation emphasized: "Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons" - Uncle Ho's advice remains valid in all eras. The press not only reflects reality but is also a great spiritual resource, arousing aspirations for development, strengthening belief in the path to socialism".

Running until June 21, the festival brings together more than 80 central and local media organisations, featuring nearly 130 exhibition booths that cover the full spectrum of national life, encompassing economy, politics, culture, society, defence, security, and foreign affairs.

The Tuyen Quang Provincial Journalists Association also had a newspaper display booth of the Emulation Cluster of Journalists Associations with the Northern Mountainous Provinces at the conference.
