In Tu Thinh commune (Son Duong), the atmosphere became more bustling when children participated to swimming lessons under the commune union. Vu Dinh Hai, Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, said that after a short time of launching, parents and students in the locality enthusiastically participated.

“This is my first time I have learned to swim. Thanks to the help of the union members in the commune, after only 4 lessons, I could swim", Hoang Hai Minh, 10 years old, from Tu Thinh commune excitedly shared.

Many localities have organized free swimming lessons every year. With the terrain of many ponds, streams, rivers and lakes, Lam Binh District Youth Union annually organizes free swimming classes for children on the occasion of summer vacation.

In addition to organizing swimming lessons, the union facilities have also carried out many creative activities to ensure the safety of children when participating in water activities such as: Deploying the model "Rescue tires to prevent drowning."; organizing and integrating propaganda and injury prevention sessions into summer activities, etc.

Trieu Van Diep, Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Phu Commune (Chiem Hoa) said that the innovative model of "Rescue tires for drowning prevention" for children has attracted by many people. Youth union members and youths in the commune used bicycle and motorbike tires and tied them to landmarks along rivers and streams to help students.

The opening of free swim lessons is a useful summer playground for children. In the coming time, the union facilities will create more healthy playgrounds for children to help them have safe summer.
