Ha Thi Gai's family in Lang Ai Hamlet, Xuan Quang Commune, Chiem Hoa District is supported to build a new house by local authorities.
Chiem Hoa is a mountainous district with a large number of difficult hamlets and the rate of ethnic minority people accounting over 70%. To achieve the poverty reduction goals, the district has mobilised the strength of community to participate. In particular, the local authorities have focused on calling for benefactors to support poor households to build new houses and develop production in order to increase their incomes and escape poverty.
With effective poverty reduction solutions, Chiem Hoa District has 7.868 households out of poverty, and the poverty rate of the district decreased from 36,21% to 12,29% in the 2016 - 2020 period. By the end of 2020, the district achieved 12 out of 14 targets of the National Targeted Programme for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.
Recently, about 2.469 poor households and near - poor households in 16 communes and town in Chiem Hoa District has been supported digital television receivers under the Project on digitization of terrestrial television transmission and broadcast until 2020 according to the Prime Minister's Decision No 2451/QD-TTg.
Chiem Hoa strives to decrease the poverty rate to under 10% by the end of 2021.
