Vietnam and Qatar cooperate in youth development policy formulation

TQO - Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Sports have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the formulation of youth development policies.

The signing ceremony took place on December 8 between Vietnam’s Deputy Minister Tran Anh Tuan and Qatari Ambassador to Vietnam Mohamed Ismail Al Emadi.

Under the MOU, the two sides will facilitate the exchange of information between government agencies on youth affairs and establish a framework for youth cooperation programmes.

Vietnam and Qatar will also exchange delegations from the agencies responsible for the formulation and implementation of youth development policies.

Areas of cooperation include youth employment and the entrepreneurial spirit, youth and citizenship, youth and project management, youth and the volunteer spirit and the enhancement of youth capacity in all fields.

Earlier, during a reception for the Qatari diplomat, Deputy Minister Tran Anh Tuan stated that the Vietnamese government always considers young people the future of the nation and has paid close attention to youth development policies.

In addition to youth affairs, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs also wishes to expand cooperation with Qatar to other areas under its jurisdiction such as the organisation of civil servants and the management of non-governmental organisations and commendations.

For his part, Qatari Ambassador Mohamed Ismail Al Emadi expressed his hope that the two sides can have greater cooperation and arrange mutual visits after the Covid-19 pandemic is contained.
