Traditional cultural identities of ethnic minority groups restored

TQO - In 2024, a number of festivals such as the Gau Tao of the H'mong, the traditional wedding of the Tay, the Com pounding festival of the Tay, the wedding of the Red Dao, and more were restored, creating a great influence in the community.

Tuyen Quang has 22 ethnic groups. Each ethnic group has its own customs, practices, and rituals containing cultural and historical values. When the village or family has an important event, each ethnic group performs its own traditional rituals associated with the culture and customs of the village.

During the practice of rituals, people maintain wearing traditional costumes and performing some folk songs and dances of the ethnic group. The shamans who perform the rituals are all based on ancient books, reciting the commandments of their ancestors about morality, lifestyle, family affection, brotherhood, husband and wife love, etc.

The restoration of traditional rituals associated with folk festivals has restored many unique cultural features such as traditional games, embroidery, weaving, love songs, etc.

Along with the restoration of traditional rituals, currently in villages, clubs to preserve ethnic cultural identity have been established; schools have had extracurricular activities to learn about ethnic culture. Thereby contributing to educating and spreading the beauty of ethnic minority culture.
