Preserving stilt houses in Ham Yen

TQO - In response to the request to protect the forest and the environment, the Tay, Nung, and Dao people in Ham Yen district have built stilt houses by concrete, contributing to preserving their national cultural identity.

According to Ma Phuc Du, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Yen district, the model of making a house on stilts with concrete columns appeared in Ham Yen district about 20 years ago.

The construction of new model of stilt houses saves construction costs. At the same time, it still preserves the traditional culture, limiting the impact on the environment and negative impacts on the natural forest.
