The collective economy "energizes" people in difficult areas

Shan Tuyet Loc Tra tea of Son Tra Cooperative (Na Hang) was introduced to international scientists at the Private Economic Sector Coordination Forum of Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang - Yen Bai provinces.

The value of Hong Thai (Na Hang) tea trees began to be restored when Son Tra Cooperative found an outlet for the product. Currently, the total area of Shan Tuyet tea raw material area of the Cooperative is 64 hectares, including 29 hectares of ancient tea hundreds of years old, 35 hectares of tea grown over 20 years old, which is being linked by the Cooperative with local households.

Son Tra Cooperative currently has 2 products meeting 4-star standards: Shan Tuyet tea 1 bud 1 leaf, Shan Tuyet Loc Tra tea; One product with 3 stars is Shan Tuyet Tea 1 shrimp 2 leaves. The product is being tested in two markets: France and the US, aiming to reach 5-star quality standards for export to the international market.

Phong Luu General Service Cooperative, Phu Luu commune (Ham Yen) is one of the focal points for producing and supplying high quality oranges to markets inside and outside the province. The cooperative was established in 2008, currently the cooperative has 16 members. Orange trees have become a crop with economic value, helping cooperative members stabilize and improve their lives. The cooperative's orange growing area is 50 hectares. Oranges are grown and cared for according to a process that ensures safety. The cooperative has been granted a VietGAP agricultural practice certificate since 2015 (area of 4.5 hectares).

In 2021, Phu Son Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative, Tan Thanh commune (Son Duong) will be coordinated and supported by KOICA project, Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, An Phuoc - Viramie Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) to deploy the model. "Linking production and consumption of AP1 ramil products". The model has a scale of 10.2 hectares, with 31 households in Son Duong district participating. The cooperative is contracted by businesses to grow and consume products until 2031. The cooperative is trying to increase the area of ramil to 100 hectares.

Thus, cooperatives are a lever, a bridge, and a source of "empowerment" for people in difficult areas to boost production, gradually eliminate poverty, and rise up in life.
