Comrade Do Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of Ham Yen District People's Committee, said that Ham Yen District has nearly 4,000 hectares of oranges of all kinds. The estimated output is more than 55,000 tons. With high quality, Ham Yen oranges have affirmed their position in the market.
In 2007, Ham Yen District built a brand for its orange products. In 2014, Ham Yen orange products were certified to meet national standards TCVN 1973.2007 and TCVN1873.2014. Since then, Ham Yen orange products have become a fruit tree that has continuously reached the top of famous specialty fruits in Vietnam, he said.
To accompany people in consuming all output, stabilizing prices and maintaining the Ham Yen orange brand, Ham Yen District People's Committee has been actively contacting and coordinating with sectors to develop plans to consume oranges through traders at wholesale markets and distribution corporations with supermarket systems, shopping malls, convenience stores such as BigC, Winmart & Winmart+, Lotte, Vincom, chain stores; central markets of provinces, small traders and a part of the output consumed on Zalo, Facebook, Tiktok, e-commerce platforms, and online business.
Mr. Vu Van Son, Minh Phat Production and Trading Cooperative, Phu Luu Commune (Ham Yen), has been involved in orange consumption for more than 9 years. He said that Vinh oranges and V2 oranges are early-ripening oranges, so the Cooperative started purchasing oranges from the beginning of October. As of early November, the Cooperative has sold more than 30 tons of oranges at supermarket systems such as BigC, CoopMart, Winmart & Winmart+, etc.
Growing oranges for more than ten years now, with nearly 500 Vinh orange and Canh orange gardens, Mr. Dinh Trong Vo, Tan Tien Village, Chieu Yen Commune (Yen Son) harvests 20-30 tons of oranges each year, worth about VND300 million. He said that he has been using social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, and Tiktok to connect directly with traders in the lowland provinces, helping to increase his family's capacity and expand the orange consumption market.
The early-ripening orange gardens are promising a good orange season with good prices for orange growers in the province.
