Applying science and technology to agricultural production

TQO - In October 2024, four out of seven agricultural products exported to the UK market were key specialty products and OCOP products of Yen Son district. This is a good sign that people have initially made efforts to change their thinking and ways of doing things in production, applying science and technology in agricultural production to create quality agricultural products.

People in Soi Ha village, Xuan Van commune (Yen Son) harvest grapefruit grown according to organic standards, VietGAP.

Yen Son district People's Committee has directed the district's agricultural department and functional units to increase the organization of training courses and guidance on cultivation and livestock farming techniques for people to have more and more quality products.

At the same time, strengthen the organization for enterprises, cooperatives, and production households to exchange and learn experiences in localities developing organic agriculture and clean agriculture, helping people proactively access and apply technology to agriculture, improve production efficiency, target potential export markets, and create stable output for local agricultural products.

Mr. Nguyen The Hai, Director of Chieu Yen Clean Banana Cooperative (Yen Son) shared that the cooperative has boldly invested in automatic irrigation systems, industrial dryers, greenhouses, and packaging rooms. Early investment in irrigation systems helps nutrients, water, and fertilizers to be evenly distributed to each tree, saving labor costs, avoiding wasting irrigation water, ensuring proactive water supply, and increasing crop productivity.

To meet the strict standards when bringing agricultural products to the international market, Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Cooperative, Tu Quan Commune (Yen Son) has proactively invested in a professional closed process in the production of guava tea bags including a cold dryer, grinder, mixer, and "5 in 1" tea bag packing machine to help measure tea, pack tea bags, attach threads, attach stamps, and pack outer bags.

To increase the value of agricultural products, recently the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with R.Y.B Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) to offer over 50 key products of the province to European markets. Accordingly, all exported products are sampled for testing and strictly monitored for quality.

Along with that, cooperatives in Yen Son district have also initially repaired and upgraded factories and innovated technology in the processing process. These efforts have helped improve productivity, extend shelf life, preserve the nutritional value of products, and create consumer trust.
