Promoting linkages of chili growing for export in Chiem Hoa

TQO - The model of linkage chili cultivation in association with export consumption markets in communes in Chiem Hoa district has brought high economic efficiency, opening a new promising direction.

These days, Nong Van Thuong's family from Khuon Khoai village, Yen Nguyen commune (Chiem Hoa) is focusing on caring for the second generation of chili peppers. Thuong said that in previous years, he planted 1,000m2 of corn, but it did not bring economic efficiency. At the beginning of September 2022, he cooperated with Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Hai Duong City) to plant nearly 2,000 square meters of Korean natural chili peppers according to organic processes for export. The company supports 100% post-payment of seeds, organic fertilizers, biological products to prevent pests and diseases, and provides technical guidance on care and consumption of output products at market prices.

Chili is an easy plant to grow, not picky about soil. Organic peppers produce even larger, spicy and more beautiful fruits than peppers with traditional cultivation.

Deputy Director of Yen Nguyen Commune Agriculture, Forestry and Service Cooperative Hoang Van Quy said that, currently, the commune has cooperated with Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Hai Duong Province) to grow chili for export with an area of nearly 15 hectares, mostly in Khuon Khoai and Bao Ninh villages. The output market of the harvested chili output has been exported to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore by the company.

Hoa An commune has a large area of chili for export in Chiem Hoa district. The commune has nearly 30 hectares of chili cultivation in association with Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company and Kim Boi Green Agriculture Cooperative (Hoa Binh). Two companies have signed contract with chili growers to consume their pepper products.

Head of the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of Chiem Hoa district Do Van Hieu said that, in order to meet the requirements of the companies' consume, the district has focused on coordinating with related units to issue certificates of area codes and barcodes for chili products of Chiem Hoa district. At the same time, the district has communicated farmers to convert crops on inefficient agricultural production areas to growing chili.
