According to petro companies, the reason for the sharp drop in domestic gas prices is the rapid drop in world gas prices. The average world gas price in March 2023 closed the contract at 730 USD/ton, down 60 USD/ton compared to February. Therefore, domestic gas trading enterprises also adjusted down accordingly.

Thus, after a strong increase in early February with an increase of more than VND60,000 per cylinder, gas prices from the beginning of March have decreased. Since the beginning of the year, gas prices have increased once and decreased twice.
