Pa Then tea

TQO - "Pa Then Tea", the name that the people of Linh Phu commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, gave to tea products in two villages of Khuoi Hop, Na Luong, has been grown for about 40 years.

Pa Then tea is suitable with soil, climate in Linh Phu commune. The tea product is cultivated by local people by a  manual process with organic fertilizer. The tea does not use plant protective chemicals so it’s quality is excellent and healthy , with the sweet scent of tea, no smell of pungent, clear green tea.

Currently, the commune is working with the specialized agencies of Chiem Hoa district and the provincial Department of Science and Technology to carry out the registration of the trademark Pa Then tea. This is also the main product in implementing the "One Commune, One Product (OCOP)" programme.

The existing tea area is 23 hectares with 2 tea varieties of PH8 and TRI777. Two varieties of tea under the Shan tea variety features the characteristics such as the well-grown plants, large buds, large canopy, high yield, and good quality. Thanks to tea trees, many people here have a stable income, their quality of life has been improved.

Currently, fresh tea is priced at VND 10,000 per kilogramme, packaged tea costs from VND 120,000 to 150,000 per kilogramme depending on the time.

In the coming time, the commune continues to support people in planting, tending and processing tea, and at the same time, promote Pa Then tea products to localities inside and outside the province, contributing to raising incomes and improving good life.
