The owners of brick kilns complying with the policy on eliminating manual brick kilns are expected to eliminate their kilns no later than March 31, 2020. They have turned to other jobs, such as workers, operating in transport services, growing grass to raise cattle, orchard farming and providing motel services.

As of February 21, 2020, Ham Yen district has 98 manual brick kilns concentrated in Thai Son, Binh Xa, Phu Luu, Tan Thanh, Yen Phu and Duc Ninh communes. In which, 28 furnaces have been dismantled and 14 others have been shut down but not dismantled yet, while 56 kilns are still operating, mainly in Thai Son commune. Eliminating all manual brick kilns by March 31 this year is the goal that local authorities in Thai Son and Binh Xa communes are heading to complete.
Ham Yen continues to organise vocational training and labour export counseling courses for local workers in Thai Son and Binh Xa communes. The district will also create the best conditions for the local authorities to guide owners of brick kilns to level their facilities and restore the status quo of the local land to compile dossiers for granting land use right certificates.
