In 2020, when Son Duong built clean production models, including rice and tea grown according to organic standards, Minh Thanh - along with Tan Trao and Hop Hoa communes - was chosen to build a pilot model.

Minh Thanh's 5% rice field located along Ngoi Co Lake was subcontracted by the Commune People's Committee to Minh Thanh Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative for implementation. After 4 conversion seasons, the farmland began to get used to pure farming, Minh Thanh Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative embarked on clean production.

For organic production, the Cooperative has rebuilt a solid embankment to isolate and prevent chemical fertilizers from overflowing from neighboring fields.

Field land using chemical fertilizers for a long time must be treated with microbial organic fertilizer for 4 consecutive seasons. During the conversion period, the Cooperative almost did not produce but let the land rest and regenerate.

La Khai organic rice products participate in market promotion.

The success of the organic rice growing model in Minh Thanh is the first step in creating a clean agricultural production model, with clean, quality and standard products.

The organic rice product of Minh Thanh Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative is named La Khai.

La Khai Organic Rice product has now been certified as a 3-star OCOP product, sold for VND25,000 per kg, twice as high as conventionally produced rice.

The biggest wish of Minh Thanh Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative today is to accumulate land. Thus, the synchronous application of organic standards, and isolation from conventional production areas is more guaranteed.
