Ham Yen prepares for the orange harvest season

TQO - The local people in of orange region in the Ham Yen District are preparing to enter the harvest season, an abundant crop to compensate for the long-term investment and cultivation of farmers.

With an area of more than 500 hectares of oranges, at this time, some orange orchards of Tan Thanh Commune are starting to harvest oranges. The commune's orange output is estimated at about 7,000 tons this year.

Vice Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee Dang Van Bao said that orange trees are the main crop of people in the commune. Right after the end of the 2021-2022 orange crop, the commune has developed the orange care, harvest and consume plan.

In order to improve the quality and value of orange products, the commune has communicated and mobilized people to take care of oranges in the direction of VietGap. At the same time, the commune established the Tan Thanh organic orange cooperation to support consumption of products.

Currently, Ham Yen District has nearly 6,200 hectares of oranges of all kinds. The yield orange is estimated at nearly 75,000 tons.

Ham Yen District has focused on maintaining and developing potential markets of Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, etc.
