Over the past 3 years, the district has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors and earned at over VND80 billion in tourism revenue. In addition to organizing traditional festivals, the district has also focused on promoting its tourist destinations to attract holidaymakers, such as Cham Chu Forest in Minh Huong Commune and the Cao Duong ecotourism site in Yen Thuan Commune.
Phu Luu Commune has encouraged local households to convert their houses into homestay facilities and provide catering services to lure travelers to relax and visit the orange growing areas.
The 30-year-old orange garden in Muong Village, Phu Luu Commune, Ham Yen District, is an attractive destination for visitors.
Tan Thanh Commune in Ham Yen District has cultivated more than 130 hectares for tea production, mostly concentrated in Bat Village. Bat Village’s green tea products are now known as a specialty of Ham Yen District at local trade fairs.
To fully tap the potential and advantages from its orange planting areas, Ham Yen District authorities have directed and guided local people to be engaged in clean agriculture, focusing on building and maintaining its brand to improve the quality of products.
The district annually hosts the Ham Yen Orange Festival in order to advertise, promote investment, and expand market for consumption of products while attracting tourists to the Ham Yen orange growing areas.
The integration of agricultural development and tourism is considered as a potential model for farmers to do business in their hometowns and improve the value of products.
