Expanding consumption of Ham Yen king orange

TQO - At this time, gardeners in Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quan province are busy with the harvest of king oranges while traders from other provinces and cities are gathering to buy oranges. The district has been paid due attention to find markets for Ham Yen orange in order to stablise production.

Ham Yen King Orange Joint Stock Company has signed to buy oranges from 300 growers in the district. In the harvest season, the company has committed to all orange products with higher price than the market price, then sold them in supermarkets and wholesale markets nationwide. In the coming time, the company will strengthen links with businesses in the Central and Central Highlands to consume oranges for farmers.

The district has set up working groups to survey markets in other provinces and cities to bring orange products into supermarkets and wholesale markets. Currently, Ham Yen king orange has been consumed in four big supermarkets such as BigC, Metro, Co.opmart, FiviMart in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Dong Nai, among others. Each year, the district organises the Ham Yen King Orange fair to connect businesses and farmers.

At the Ham Yen King Orange Fair in 2019, the district has signed a contract to consume orange products with enterprises from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Ha Nam with over 40.000 tonnes. Currently, the district is preparing conditions to organise the fair on January 4-5, 2020 to continue to sign consumption contracts with businesses throughout the country.
