Dried bamboo shoot season in Thuong Giap

TQO - Last year was also the first year that households in Na Thai village, Thuong Giap commune (Na Hang) piloted the model of purchasing fresh bamboo shoots, self-processing and producing dried bamboo shoots and bamboo shoot pieces.

Ms. Ma Thi Nang, Na Thai village, said that this year, her family purchased over 4 tons of fresh bamboo shoots, produced over 600 kg of dried bamboo shoots, with an average selling price of VND150,000 per kg.

Thuong Giap commune (Na Hang) is favorable for growing bamboo shoots.

After being harvested, the bamboo shoots are boiled and washed for processing.

The quality of bamboo shoots in Thuong Giap is considered to be leaner than many other localities' bamboo shoots.

Na Thai villagers pre-process bamboo shoots to make dried bamboo shoot pieces.

The bamboo shoots are naturally dried under the sunlight, looking like beautiful dried squid.

To dry completely, each batch of bamboo shoots must go through 7-10 sunny days, ensuring that they are not moldy when they reach consumers.

Taking advantage of the sunny days, people are completing the last shipments before the end of the season.

The work of processing dried bamboo shoots also creates many jobs for seasonal workers with a salary of VND200,000 per day.

Bamboo shoot products are packaged according to standards from 0.5 - 1kg per bag.

The products are vacuum-sealed for long-term preservation.

There are currently 2 products sold on the market, including bamboo shoots and dried bamboo shoots from Thuong Giap.

The products are packaged to prepare to send to customers.

Although it is a new profession, dried bamboo shoots in Thuong Giap are gaining a solid position in the market, especially near Tet.
